Description
Few places in the world can offer such different landscapes in such a smallWorld Biosphere Reserve space as La Palma. With its 706 square kilometres, it is the fifth largest island of the archipelago and the youngest along with El Hierro. It has an incredibly dense forest mass, with landscapes that will leave you breathless. It was declared a World Biosphere Reserve in 2002, its history is exciting and its traditions have remained the same for centuries. All these elements provoke very intense emotions every single time that you visit the island, which is why it is called "THE BEAUTIFUL ISLAND". We will depart from the harbour of Los Cristianos to the harbour of Santa Cruz de La Palma, and once we arrive, we will visit SANTA CRUZ DE LA PALMA. Declared of cultural interest within the category of historic-artistic site, it is a colonial style city that back in the day became the third most important harbour of the Crown of Castile after Seville and Antwerp. We will visit LA CALLE REAL (Royal Street), PLAZA DE ESPAÑA (Spain Square), LA RECOVA MARKET with its typical products from La Palma, and the BOSQUE DE LOS TILOS (Linden Tree Forest), a laurel forest which was declared a Biosphere Reserve in 1983. Once in the forest we will reach its famous waterfall, which will leave you breathless. The most daring can bathe in the refreshing waters of SAN ANDRÉS and enjoy CHARCO AZUL (Blue Pool), considered one of the 10 best natural pools in Spain.
