Description
Poema del Mar is a modern aquarium located in the port of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Being the latest jewel of the Loro Parque Group, the aquarium has more than 350 marine species, which live in just over 6 million litres of water. A place with different and multiple atmospheres where nature captures you and where every corner becomes the source of admiration for the lovers of the marine world. A place where both children and adults will find a perfect place to enjoy an unforgettable experience. Poema del Mar was created with the aim of becoming a conservation and awareness centre of aquatic life. It is divided into three ecosystems: surface marine ecosystems, deep marine ecosystems and freshwater species. As a curiosity, this aquarium houses the largest curved window in the world, consisting of a methacrylate screen weighing 140 tons. It is a modern and ambitious project based on a commitment to innovation, biodiversity conservation, and excellence in tourism sustainability. It has been coined as a project of "strategic interest for the region" by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria and the Government of the Canary Islands, reinforcing the promotion of the archipelago as an international travel destination. The aquarium belongs to the same group as Loro Parque and Siam Park, which is a quality guarantee.
